Tripping and Falling into 2026

I'm sure it's no surprise, but we are seeing mostly trip and fall claims to start the year in BioX. If you read the claim descriptions, people are falling over fans, over boxes, over wastebaskets, and falling on ice and snow. One employee was even running!

We should really do whatever we can to avoid these because they are the main cost driver for BioX. I've put together a short video on avoiding falls in the donation center with a few ideas. Also, we have some videos you could use to send out to your employees here.

The Blood Connection has sent us some PDF resources to help with the slipping and falling problem. You'll find these on the website as well. Use them as safety posters or send them out as attachments.

Remember to pay special attention to older workers over 50 years old. Their falls account for 39.4 percent of the overall losses in BioX.
